Created a shared mailbox by team name (Example Team Rolex) in that team there are three users (eg Roger, Ben and Mike) who are accessing team shared mailbox to read the mail of their particular team. 

1. The problem which we are facing is, say for example
2.  One user Roger sends mail to the team shared mailbox.
3. The second user "Ben" reads that email.
4. The MAJOR issue here is that the email is showing as read. So the third user is not aware if there is any new email in his list. He has actually not ready the email but since the email has been read by one of the team members it automatically marks it as READ which is WRONG. The mail should be marked as read, only when the user reads it and not when anyone one else from his team reads it.

Been a very troubling issue since long, need a proper workaround.

Not what you want to hear, but it is not possible do configure per-user read/unread information for mailboxes as we can for Public Folders.
If a messages is marked as read by any user, all of them will see that and there is nothing we can configure in Exchange to change that.

A workaround for you might be to change the setting on the inbox folder to show "Total number of items" instead of "Show number of unread items".

The unread message would automatically be marked as read when selecton changes by any user. We can control the behavior from Outloik site, View Tab, Layout section > Reading Pane > Options. However, as Martina's reply, that is not possible do configure per-user read/unread information for mailboxes.

To work around this, cancel the setting in reading pane option and items would not be marked as read. Tag the message as different colour catagory instead of per-user reading.
